How do you determine the right style for your customers?
I begin by finding out what your design needs are. What is your current walk of life? Just moved? Retired? Children? Married? Pets? Describe your home to me. Which room(s) are you focusing on? How will you be using the space? What colors do you currently have that you want to keep or change? How do you want your home to feel? Then I interpret back to you by showing you furniture pieces that fit your descriptions and desires. I take measurements and do sketches to see how they will fit into your home.

What aspect of your job brings you the greatest joy?
My greatest joy is meeting and helping people. I love the “a-ha moments” when the customer finds what they are looking for. It could be when they sit in a chair and it “fits” them. Or when their eyes light up to a colour they just love. I love it when the design all comes together and the customer walks away with a spring in their step!

What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday, assuming you’re not working?
Opening the curtains to a bright day of sunshine and blue skies beside a lake in BC. I walk down the dock to get into a kayak for a quiet paddle around the lake. Afterwards, I head back to the patio for a leisurely breakfast and then pull out paint brushes, paints and a canvas to create a painting while music plays in the background. After lunch, my husband and I check out second hand stores and art galleries and then return home late in the afternoon to go for a swim. The evening is spent on the beach with a bonfire, eating and chatting with friends or family. Finally, looking up the night sky full of stars and expressing thanks to the Creator for a beautiful day.
